Here are some tips I have found useful in my fast-paced world...
- Every time we have left over veggies that are not enough to serve my family again, I add them to a plastic freezer bag and keep them in the freezer until I have enough to make a veggie soup.

- When cooking meats, I fix enough to last several meals. Left over meats and be prepared in so many different ways your family will not object to leftovers.
- We placed our grill under a covered section out back...the roof is not low enough for fire concerns...yet we can still cook rain or shine. We even put on a coat and cook out all winter.
- Whole wheat pastas make a quick and delicious side dish to any meal and I love the added fiber.

- I have switched to using chicken base instead of chicken broth. Base is a concentrated flavor that when mixed with water will make a great tasting chicken stock. It is stored in the fridge after opening and one jar will make many quarts of stock. Find it where you buy chicken stock on the grocer shelves.
- I try to keep a small herb container going year round. Fresh parsley, chives, thyme, basil, and oregano have so much more flavor than the dried. I use a small lamp with a grow light bulb it it to help them during the winter months.
